Six decades of world class microphone design experience.

Designing microphones that deliver exceptional sound, consistent performance, and outstanding durability is no small task. DPA Microphones builds on more than six decades of world-class microphone design experience, with roots dating back to the 1950s when its predecessor, Brüel & Kjær, developed the first truly accurate measurement microphones. That legacy of precision, sound quality, and technical innovation remains at the core of everything DPA does today.

Over the past decade, DPA has continued to push boundaries by developing unique microphone solutions for new market segments while continually refining its existing portfolio. Since 2015, the company has significantly increased its investment in research and development, driving advancements such as concealable miniature microphones, flexible headset designs, and top-tier vocal microphones—innovations that have helped shape the modern audio landscape.

4099 Instrument Microphone

From piano and guitar to strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion, the 4099 Series delivers outstanding sound across every instrument family. A single 4099 microphone can seamlessly reinforce an entire orchestra—simply move it between instruments and use the appropriate mounting clip for a secure fit.

The award-winning 4099 Series provides a far more natural sound than traditional clip-on microphones or pickups. Its condenser design effectively rejects unwanted noise while capturing the true, authentic character of your acoustic instrument.

4060 Series

The 4060 Omni Mic is the very first miniature microphone developed by DPA from the best technology previously only used in hearing aids and measurement microphones. This microphone handles sound pressure levels up to 134 dB before clipping occurs. This mic is well suited for applications where the sound source is more remote or damped and you need to have a good balance signal versus noise.

6060 Series

The 6060 CORE Subminiature Microphones measure just 3 mm (0.12 in), yet deliver the audio performance of DPA’s larger, award-winning microphones. What they lack in size, they more than make up for in clarity, consistency, and durability—the qualities that matter most in professional sound.

These subminiature microphones offer a lower noise floor than any other 3 mm capsule on the market and can handle high sound pressure levels with exceptional accuracy and minimal distortion. Now available with MicroLock®, they feature a secure, dependable locking connector that provides outstanding flexibility and long-term reliability.
