Leadership Team

Merv Taylor
CEO

Merv started building cellular networks in the late 80s and joined the Broadtech Group in 1997 to create Sky Communications Ltd (SkyComms), a specialist cellular and microwave radio design and build company employing 100 staff with revenues in excess of $20M. He also expanded SkyComms to Australia with offices in Sydney and Melbourne with over 150 total staff.

More recently Merv was the Head of Technology, Design and Delivery (CTO) at The Rural Connectivity Group (RCG), a joint venture between Spark, OneNZ and 2degrees responsible for building a new circa 500 site 3G/4G network in rural New Zealand.

Henry Wong
Head of Finance

Henry manages and controls the financial reporting and governance for the company.

His extensive background includes senior roles in the film/media, manufacturing, water and aviation industries.

He is a CA and a long-standing member of the NZ institute of Chartered Accountants.

Sally Casbolt
Head of Business Operations

Sally is responsible for operational functions across the whole company, including commercial, project delivery, network operations, engineering, and logistics.

She has extensive experience in finance and telecommunications, with over 25 years in the cellular sector specialising in the design, build and operations of complex network infrastructure.

Kevin Casbolt
Head of Networks

Kevin is head of Broadtech’s related network company, JDA. He manages the nationwide JDA Network business, covering Digital Terrestrial Television transmission and radio sites providing transmission facilities for FM Radio, IOT, wireless broadband and cellular services along with management of 3rd party telco and broadcast sites.

With 40+ years of power and telecoms experience he is responsible for the management of all network properties, tower-site infrastructure and technical facilities that belong to JDA and all third-party owned transmission facilities that JDA is contracted to manage.

Lis Burt
Head of Sales and Marketing

Lis has had over 25 years’ experience in sales, marketing, and management across various industries.

Graduating with degrees in Arts and Music she founded businesses specialising in luxury travel and high-end interiors. In 2017 she transitioned into healthcare, which has now led to her interest in wider communications technology.

Max Million
Head of Project Delivery

Max leads our PMO with over 30 years of RF Projects experience, working in projects in the UK, Europe, Middle East and New Zealand.

He has managed operational support services and delivered complex projects for a range of clients in the Defence and Cellular Communications sectors.

Jan Rajwer
Head of Network Operations

Jan manages the network infrastructure for Broadtech, JDA and third-party networks including sites and facilities.

Jan has network management and operations expertise on a wide range of telecommunications technologies including digital television, FM radio broadcast, cellular, mobile, fibre, linking and managed nationwide WAN networks.

Bhawana Singh
Head of Health and Enterprise

Bhawana has a passion for technology and leads our Health and Enterprise team.

With over a decade of experience in Telecoms she was involved in the rollout of the NZ Digital TV Transmission Network and NZ’s first live sports streaming service. She has a Bachelor of Technology (BTech, Dist) and a Master of Engineering Studies (MES).

Keith Salter
Head of Engineering

Keith started as a Radio Technician in Auckland and now leads the engineering team at Broadtech. This includes spectrum licensing, RF engineering and electromagnetic emission reviews.

He has extensive experience in cellular, broadcasting, microwave radio, maritime and land mobile gained in NZ and Europe and is an Approved Radio Engineer (ARE).
